Governor Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq greenlights a 100% Consolidated Health Salary Structure (CONHESS) for nurses in Kwara State, emphasizing the importance of enhancing healthcare standards.
In a significant move to elevate the welfare of healthcare professionals in Kwara State, Governor Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq has given the nod for the full implementation of a 100% Consolidated Health Salary Structure (CONHESS) specifically for nurses. The decision, aimed at recognizing and rewarding the crucial role nurses play in the healthcare system, was revealed in a joint statement by Mr. Aminu Shehu and Markus Luka, Chairman, and Secretary of the National Association of Nigerian Nurses and Midwives, Kwara State Council, respectively.
The statement also highlighted the governor’s commitment to address the shortage of healthcare personnel due to the emigration of health workers. Governor Abdulrazaq’s approval for the recruitment of additional nurses is a strategic step to fill the void created by professionals seeking opportunities abroad.
Governor Abdulrazaq, optimistic about the positive impact on healthcare delivery, expressed hope that the implementation of CONHESS would elevate the quality and standards of nursing care in Kwara State, aligning it with global best practices.
The National Association of Nigerian Nurses and Midwives, Kwara State Council, expressed gratitude to the Executive Secretary of the State Hospital Management Bureau for actively supporting their efforts to secure this significant development. The association further applauded Governor AbdulRazaq for his approval and the initiative to bolster the nursing workforce, anticipating an enhancement in overall manpower and healthcare services in the state.
